Trails From The Crypt - What is it?
This is a fun event, with a haunted house style trail ride for NON members. We are building this event to showcase a selected trail loop at Pennywise, our club’s ability to have fun and as a membership drive. Hopefully, we can put away a little money in our treasury, too.
Why? Right now, our treasury is in very good shape and we will be closing the fiscal year in February well ahead of past years. As we look at upcoming events within the club and community and with land access opportunities, it’ll be good to be prepared for the unexpected.
Goals:
Safe and fun event for members
Have fun sharing a Haunted Trail ride we build with potentially new members
Awesome pictures to share on web
Make some surplus in dues via guest membership program we started this year
How will it work?
It’s time to put things in motion with the whole club on this event.
Volunteer sign ups will be open right up until the event - but here’s the thing. The earlier we know on the planning side of things who is coming from our members to help, the better we can plan everything. That means, our members will have a great time. Also, as we have documented volunteers being placed into certain roles, we know how many people we can invite AND accommodate on our Haunted Trail experience.
Event Time Frame -
Sunday, October 20, 2019 - Small crew will pick up a trailer, and load it with Halloween decorations donated for use by The River’s Edge Restaurant. Seth has supported the club through hosting meetings or catering after hours since 2014, since our first event as a club. The decorations available for use include props of all shapes and sizes. This crew will help pick out what we want to use and take responsibility for delivering it. We currently don’t need volunteers for this day, and we won’t be wheeling. WE WILL KEEP YOU POSTED, IT'S SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Friday, October 25 - Sunday October 27 - Arrive, Set Up, Execute, Clean Up!
We’re going to be on location all weekend, and will need help throughout the weekend.
For club members, this should be the fun part.
Friday - Arrivals and night wheeling
Saturday - Set up the haunted trail on predetermined route
Saturday - 6 pm guest check in (off site)
Saturday 7 pm - convoy and start trail ride
Saturday 10 pm - guests have departed
Saturday night - usually involves more wheeling on harder stuff
Sunday - clean up and wheeling
